LE TRIO
Classic concert by Le Trio, with Tomoka Kiba on violin, Wolf Dietrich Wirbach on cello and Erna Hennicot-Schoepges on piano.
Le Trio is born from the desire of the three musicians to play together, they meet regularly in Luxembourg since 2013.
Their repertoire includes trios and sonatas for violin, cello of Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Mendelsohn, Rchmaninov, Chopin, Dvořák, Fauré and Debussy.
On the occasion of Celebration Factory, The Trio features Gabriel Fauré's Trio op.120, as well as Claude Debussy's Premier Trio en Sol.
Erna Hennicot Schoepges began her musical studies at the age of six. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she continued her studies at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris with Magda Tagliaferro. From 1966 to 1983, she was professor of piano at the Luxembourg Conservatory.
Tomoko Kiba was born in Kyoto. She learned the violin from the Suzuki method at the age of three. After studying music in Osaka and Berlin (Musikhochschule), she joined the Saarländisches Staatsorchester in 1974. From 1991 to 2002, she was a member of the contemporary music ensemble Musikfabrik NRW; from 2003 to 2015, she was a member of United Instruments of Lucilin in Luxembourg.
Wolf-Dietrich Wirbach was born in Gera, Thuringia, in former East Germany. A refugee in the GDR, he continued his musical studies at the conservatories of Mainz and Berlin. Engaged as first cello with the Saarländisches Staatsorchester in 1971, he is part of chamber music ensembles (quartets, trios) and also performs as a soloist.
