VIRTUAL REALITY AND ART

On the occasion of the Luxembourg City Film Festival - from February 22 to March 4, 2018 - Csaino Luxembourg will feature a special program around the theme of the film involving artists, directors as well as local and foreign film personalities.

Carte blanche has been given to the duo of Luxembourgish artists Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron, themselves filmmakers.

They offer three events that question how artists work with the "film" media today.

Virtual Reality is the new cool tool in town, challenging new forms of narration and experience. Every work can be seen as pioneering, as its codes and rules have yet to be rewritten - a unique opportunity for artists and filmmakers alike. How will VR bring new forms of expression to visual artists and what are some unique works in the field?

The public will explore the new world of Virtual Reality and discover where the journey may take them...

Astrid Kahmke has worked for the Bavarian Film Center since 2012. Head of the first European training for artistic and creative VR developers, the VR Creators' Lab,  she is fascinated by story worlds and eXtended Realities.
