Subjective Atlas of Luxembourg

artist(s): Annelys de Vet & Associates

Subjective Atlas is a social design, publishing and bottom-up creation project. The different "subjective atlases" attempt to draw an alternative, eloquent and dynamic image of a particular country, region or city. To this end, residents, schools, artists and designers are solicited throughout the duration of the exhibition to draw a personal map of their cultural territory, exposing the latter to unpublished or even surprising glances.

Since 2003, a series of "subjective atlases" have been produced in collaboration with international cultural platforms and their creative networks. Participating individuals and groups contribute largely - creatively, concretely and critically - to the discourse on cultural image formation. Their contributions are intended to be humanistic responses to the growing simplification of political debate and the complacency of power.

Open participation during the exhibition, Casino visitors can design maps and flags for the atlas and include them in the show. Lucie Majerus will select the works and digitalise them.

Guided workshops by Lucie Majerus will take place on :

Mondays : 12.11 & 26.11 & 3.12 from 14h00 to 16h00

Tuesdays  13.11 & 27.11 & 4.12 from 8h00 to 12h00

Wednesdays 14.11 & 28.11 & 5.12 from 14h00 to 16h00

The exhibition is also a space of spontaneous contributions that will integrate the exhibition as and when.
It is also possible for groups to participate in workshops supervised by our cultural mediators.
