Inviter 7 / Patrick Bougelet

Patrick Bougelet is the seventh and final artist of the exhibition series Inviter curated by Michel Assenmaker. His work - LMB (la maison de) extrait n°2 - is an inventory of objects found in a common house which he takes out of their usual context by putting them into an exhibition space. The inventory thus becomes a representation, a fiction, the perpetuation of something doomed to disappear in the long run, the memory of something that actually is and yet remains invisible.Inviter is a monographic exhibition series that is not bound to any specific theme but merely demonstrates the act of making an exhibition. Each time, the same two rooms are put at the disposal of the seven artists. Along with the Inviter artists, a work by On Kawara marks the link between the discontinuous exhibitions joining them together into a harmonious whole.To celebrate the end of the Inviter series, a closing concert takes place 05.06.1998. The Belgian pianist Johan Bossers performs works by Giacinto Scelsi, Bernd Alois Zimmermann, Dietrich Eichmann, Chris Newman and Morton Feldman.
